Who We Are

The Myanmar Election Resource and Information Network (MERIN) is an extensive archive of all election-related materials in Myanmar including training resources, survey data, observer reports, election laws, UEC forms and more. MERIN is a non-partisan platform, created to enable Myanmar voters and researchers to access information about the democratic process, with the utmost transparency and integrity.

MERIN is run by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in Myanmar. It is funded by the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

IFES is a global, independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization based in Washington, DC supporting citizens’ rights to participate in free and fair elections. IFES’ independent expertise strengthens electoral systems and builds local capacity by providing technical assistance to election officials, empowering the underrepresented to participate in the political process, and applying field-based research to improve the electoral cycle.
